Why Arc XII exists
Small steps are progress.
For many pupils with SEND, important learning happens between traditional milestones.
Arc XII was developed to give practitioners greater resolution: a way to see where pupils are working, recognise meaningful progress and use that understanding to shape teaching.
The result is a connected SEND continuum platform for progression, assessment, evidence and planning.
Built from practice
SEND expertise, shaped by real schools.
Arc XII has grown from years of SEND and inclusion practice across mainstream and specialist education, including work with SEND hubs, enhanced provision and pupils working at different stages of learning.
That experience shapes the platform: practical enough for day-to-day use, detailed enough to recognise small-step progression and clear enough to support conversations at classroom, leadership and Trust level.
A connected approach
Progress should lead somewhere.
Arc XII was not designed as a collection of disconnected SEND tools.
The A1–A12 continuum, assessment, evidence, next objectives and planning work together so that understanding progress can inform meaningful next steps for teaching.
The continuum includes small-step objectives across National Curriculum subject areas and Preparation for Adulthood.

Technology should make the picture clearer, not make the decision.

What we are building

Arc XII is building a platform that can support individual practitioners, SEND provisions, whole schools and Multi-Academy Trusts with a shared language for meaningful progression.
The aim is simple: make progress easier to see, easier to evidence and more useful for teaching.
